CartSteward is a product of AI ENGAGED ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use CartSteward and how we use it.

Information we collect from merchants

When you create a CartSteward account, we collect your email address, a securely hashed password, and the name of your company or store. When you connect a WooCommerce store, we receive your store's URL and sync your product catalogue (names, prices, stock levels, variations, categories, and images) so the AI assistant can answer shopper questions accurately.

Information we collect from your shoppers

CartSteward is built so that shopper conversations are never tied to a real identity. Conversations, cart actions, and the orders they help produce are linked using opaque, randomly generated IDs only — we never receive a shopper's name, email, address, or payment details through CartSteward itself.

How we use shopper conversation content

When a shopper chats with CartSteward, the conversation text is sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate a response, using only the product and store information needed to answer the question. We don't use shopper conversations to train AI models.

Where your data is stored

Your account, store, and catalogue data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and hosted via Lovable Cloud. We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted secrets and signed, time-limited access tokens, to protect it.

Cookies and tracking

CartSteward's public website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The merchant dashboard uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in — this is required for the service to function and isn't used for tracking.

Payments

CartSteward does not currently process payments. When billing is introduced, payment details will be handled directly by a dedicated payment processor, and CartSteward will never store your full card details.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us below. Disconnecting your store stops any further data syncing immediately.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page if this policy changes, and we'll let active merchants know of any material change.
